Ed is an alumnus and former musical director of the University of Exeter’s award winning vocal ensemble Semi-Toned. A self-taught vocalist, Ed has been involved with Gobsmacked! since its inception, and made his professional debut with the show at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.As well as writing and arranging a cappella music, Ed works as an emcee and voiceover artist, and runs workshops on a cappella music. He has two brothers, two cats, and two vocal registers.
Ayanna recently graduated from St. Andrews University, where she took part in eleven major theatrical productions put on by the student network Mermaids; from Sheila in Hair, to Rona in Just So Society’s Spelling Bee and Character D in Theatre Uncut’s The Most Horrific in her final year, Ayanna sang with a cappella group The Alleycats for four years, winning the award for “outstanding soloist” from the Scottish a cappella Championships her final two years successively. She is thrilled to be returning to open Gobsmacked! in London this summer.
Benjamin trained at Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane, Australia.

Patrick Hirst a.k.a. Ball-Zee is one of the UK’s leading beatbox artists and has quickly become established as one of the leading vocal musicians on the world stage thanks to his unique musical style, signature snares and astonishingly realistic sound effects.
Joanne trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Ricardo was born in São Paulo but grew up in Lisbon, Portugal where he developed his musical talents at the Portuguese National Conservatoire and later at the Nexus Institute of Creative Arts.

Nic has been at the forefront of global a cappella scene for the past 20 years as a performer, director, competition judge and producer. As a performer, he founded The Magnets and took the group from amateur student beginnings to the most one of the most successful a cappella groups in the world, securing a major record deal with EMI and releasing three albums. As a producer Nic has created and managed shows at festivals throughout Europe, Australia, and New Zealand including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Auckland Arts Festival, Perth International Festival, Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight Festival.
Alexandra Spencer-Jones is the Artistic Director of Action To The Word Theatre. For them she has directed the award-winning international A CLOCKWORK ORANGE and is currently developing their new show DRACULA, which she also adapted. Her new adaptation of Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM will premiere at this year's Latitude Festival. A writer, director and choreographer, Alexandra Spencer-Jones has also recently Associate Directed the Olivier nominated BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM and THE WIZARD OF OZ.
Musical Director and Co-Creator
Jack is a composer, arranger and musical director working across film, television and theatre. He works regularly as an orchestrator and composer on British and international feature films, and composes music for broadcast TV commercials. Described as ‘a superbly skilled vocal arranger and composer’ by Grammy-award winner Ben Bram (Pitch Perfect, Glee, Pentatonix), Jack has crafted musical arrangements for Gobsmacked! that use cutting edge beatbox and multi-track live looping techniques to smash all preconceptions of what live a cappella music sounds like.
Philip has recently returned from designing the set and lighting for Blanc de Blanc at the Sydney Opera House. Limbo is in its 3rd year of touring around the world. Currently touring the UK are The James Plays, Jackie the Musical, Hairspray and Laila the Musical. He is currently Lighting Cymbeline at the Royal Shakespeare Company and After Miss Julie which will tour the UK after a short run at The Theatre Royal Bath.
Phil Bathols has been an independent producer for over 15 years. He regularly presents international artists of the most distinguished calibre at some of Australia and New Zealand’s finest venues. At the Sydney Opera House, Phil has hosted the likes of the great tenor Jose Carreras and sitar legend Ravi Shankar on his 90th birthday farewell to Australia. His passion for presenting unique, world class events encompasses an exceptionally diverse roster of household names including “Star Trek” icon turned recording artist William Shatner, “Man Vs Wild” adventurer Bear Grylls, globally respected spiritualist, thinker and self-help guru, Deepak Chopra and musical theatre icon Julie Andrews to mention a few.
Steven Howard conceptualised and produced the first ballet performances at London’s O2 Arena in London starring Darcey Bussell and Katherine Jenkins in 'Viva La Diva', two sold-out tours of ‘Here Come The Girls’ starring Lulu, Chaka Khan and Anastacia. Steven Howard's TCB Group have also managed the careers of Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music, Gabrielle, and guided the careers and produced live arena shows for street-dance act Diversity and multi platinum pop group Steps. TCB currently represent the platinum selling brothers from Britain’s Got Talent Richard and Adam, as well as Tunde, the voice from The Lighthouse Family.
Charlie is a freelance Lighting Designer who has lit theatre and opera in the UK and abroad. In 2014, Charlie was nominated for a Broadway World Award for his work on Cool Rider in the West End. Hugh has worked as the live sound engineer for Grammy-winning a cappella group The Swingles since 2007. In addition to touring more than 40 countries on four continents and mixing 650+ shows for the group, he has won numerous CARA awards for his work on their studio albums. Working with Abbey Road Live, he has toured Europe with The Specials and Pixies. His recent live recording and editing credits include Blur, Ellie Goulding, Little Mix, Justin Beiber, Paul Weller, The Who, The Beach Boys, Portishead and the Prodigy. Hugh's work has taken him to most major UK venues, festivals and studios, including the Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Stadium, O2 Arena, Abbey Road, Air Lyndhurst, V Festival, Isle of Wight Festival and Reading Festival.
Andrew Kay produced & presented the hugely successful Soweto Gospel Choir, winner of 2 Grammys, an Emmy and an Academy Award nomination. Major theatrical productions include the Old Vic Production of "Richard III" directed by Sam Mendes and starring Kevin Spacey, “Waiting for Godot” with Sir Ian McKellen, “The Tempest” starring Derek Jacobi, “The Hollow Crown” starring Diana Rigg, “The Graduate” starring Jerry Hall, "The Importance of Being Earnest" starring Patricia Routlege and productions of “Talking Heads” starring Maggie Smith and Brenda Blethyn. In music Andrew has presented artists including Kathleen Battle, Yehudi Menuhin, flamenco guitarist, Paco Pena, Ibrahim Ferrer and Omara Potuono and The Buena Vista Social Club. He has produced children’s shows and acts including "Hi-5", "Bananas in Pyjamas", and "LazyTown".
